Rustic and quaint. Good food. Buffet is worth the money. All the items tasted very good. Buffet had good selection. Only downside to buffet was limited options for dessert. Clean environment for dining. Entrance reminds you of walking into a truck stop.

Country jam is awesome. Not fancy tasty food.

A wonderful experience overall. Staff were polite and attentive without being overbearing and the food was delicious. The chicken-fried-chicken and the "sloppy-pocket" were both amazing, the baked beans had a delicious bite to them, and the dinner rolls were unbelievably soft. It is definitely worth your time to stop by this unassuming little gem.

I take my family here about 3 times a year. The Sunday buffet is loaded with fresh homemade food. The building is an old house with small town charm.

My friend wanted to try this place out. She likes eating at local places. I don't mind local places but some I have to question... As for this place, it's a hole in the wall. Kinda tacky decorated. Would never be my first choice. Our waitress was okay. You have an option of a buffet or menu. My friend did the buffet and I ordered from the menu. I got a chicken fried steak sandwich, which was actually good. My friend liked the buffet and she said the food was good. Our waitress just checked on us once. Would I come back? Not really, if it was my only choice.

What a delightful little restaurant! Inside will decorated, homey and comfortable. We ate the buffet. Very fresh and tasty even in the late afternoon. Service to notch. Too bad we didn't save room for those yummy looking desserts!

We were looking for a nice local place to eat which is not a good chain and ran into this road side family restaurant. There is a rich buffet for 12us$, and you can order apostate dishes. It is not a gourmet kitchen but nice and tasty food with nice decor. Definitely worth the stop

Great family style food. Everything on the buffet looked good and actually tasted good as well. I remarked to my wife, "I didn't realize how bad the mashed potatoes I have had recently were until I had these". Fried chicken was wonderful and not too greasy. Topped it off with a piece of gooseberry pie a la mode. Excellent way to finish the meal. The service was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back.

Fantastic home cooked, fresh, from scratch food! The Mac n cheese is the bomb and the fried chicken is easily one of the best I have ever had! Highly recommend this hidden gem!

We read about their pies and stopped to have gooseberry! Had a great conversation with the owner. We had no idea how far they go to provide ingredients for these scrumptious desserts! Handmade crust was to die for! Gooseberry wonderfully tart and balanced with the sugary coated crunchy crust. We'll be back to try the others!

Forget the buffet and go for the Sloppy Pocket. Also pie. They have tons of pie, and they are all delicious!

The food was delicious and I will be back and recommend it to everyone for a great breakfast. The service is very good and tentive. I enjoyed my meal and didn't leave hungry.

Omgosh!!!!! Soooooo good. I have seen sign of home cooking on many restaurants. This place is worth the drive from Colorado Springs. Every and I mean everything is fresh and home baked. The mashed potatoes are like whoa!!!!

Both buffets, breakfast & dinner have all you can eat home cooked food with a salad bar. The food is amazing. There is also a menu you can order from if you choose not to eat from the buffet. They have appetizers & also a drink menu that offer both alcoholic & non alcoholic beverages. The atmosphere is like a country/farm theme. Very small town feel. They sell homemade pies & jellies. Will be back!

Was late and late the buffet. Wasn't bad but not great. Management is really good. Waitress was friendly and efficient. Atmosphere is nice. Buffet better earlier in the day.

If you don't weigh looks as 1 of the most important things, this place makes the best fried chicken and pies in the area and for 35 miles in any direction. The "down home", southern and friendly attitude of the owners makes for a relaxed place. I have only ever ordered take out on my way to work. Try their specialty jam!

The food is always fantastic. My family lives near Monument but keep coming back for the best fried chicken and delicious buffet. The homemade rolls and jam are addictive. They sell their jam as well as pies. Seriously, the best fried chicken. And all for a fair price.

This place used to be amazing but the food is starting to go down hill. The last couple of times I've ordered take out they forgot my jam dip for my poppers and this last time my slopper was completely raw inside the pocket. I had to go home and microwave it. I hope the cook improves. Their food was soooo good once upon a time that I stopped everytime I was in Penrose, even if I wasn't hungry.

What a great little local restaurant! Food was better than average, all the staff was all smiles and attentive. Pricing was fair, and kids eat buffet for .60 cents times the years they are old. Great variety. We are going to try to make it on a Sunday for the breakfast buffet.

They have a very good buffet for very reasonable price. Not a real huge selection, but what they do have is very good.

I think that was the best breakfast buffet that I have ever had. Sunday mornings only for the breakfast buffet $12. Very mom and pop, cozy feel to the restaurant. I will be dining here again.

Small town feel with good food and a good atmosphere, the service was friendly and made sure we were very well taken care of. Definitely worth the stop.
